About this Travel Abroad Course and Its General Itinerary
This course is led by co-instructors Dr. Azlan Tajuddin (Sociology) and Dr. Nicole Kreidler (Interior Design). It comprises 16 students whose majors include sociology, interior design, national security studies, political science, information technology, health science, graphic design, and child and family studies. The theme of the course is "Discovering Andalusian-Islamic Heritage," which involves studying and experiencing art, history, architecture, religion, and various aspects of cultural practices left behind by the great Andalusian-Islamic civilization that ruled Spain for 500 years, and whose influences can still be seen in the southern part of the country as well as in the Maghreb today.
During the Spring semester, participants in this course met three times for pre-departure sessions. We have been very excited about this trip as the date of departure draws nearer and nearer.
